2-year-old dies in mysterious accident

An accident in the Tripp Park section of Scranton has taken the life of a 2-year-old boy, but the circumstances of the accident appear to be something of a puzzle for Scranton police. When reporters arrived at the scene, the victim had already been taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

The accident scene

A local TV station reported that the police were examining two vehicles. One was parked on the street, and another was parked in a driveway at one of the homes on the street. Police investigators were seen photographing both vehicles. Police did not identify the driver of either vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, but police did not release any information about whether either vehicle was involved in the accident.

Neighbors told reporters that the scene was close to Tripp Elementary School and that cars rarely slowed down as they drove through the neighborhood. One witness said that the mother of the victim was seen to be crying. Police are continuing their investigation by interviewing neighbors. No charges were announced against either driver.

Conclusion

The parents of the victim will no doubt seek information about a potential lawsuit against the driver who was at fault.
